ECTESOL Conference Succeeds in Educating Educators

The 2019 Winter Conference brought in more than 60 area educators to learn, network and share experiences “Exploring Paths to Literacy Proficiency.”

Keynote speaker Ginger Alberto, program director of the Florida Department of Education Student Achievement through Language Acquisition Bureau, kicked off the day with her discussion of student achievement through language acquistion in her presentation.

Guests enjoyed other educational presentations also including:

  • Engaging English Learners
  • Pragmatics for EFL/ESOL: From the Theoretical to the Practical
  • Reaching for the Stars
  • Writing a Winning TESOL Grant
  • Language Writing Frames to Aid ESOL Elementary Students
  • Supporting Non-Literate Adult Learners of English on Paths to Literacy
  • Dynamics of Literacy: Language and Science

Several area students from Workman Middle IB World School gave cultural performances including a poem reading, song and dance during the lunch break.
