Conference schedule, speakers set

On Feb. 9, the ECTESOL will be present our annual conference at the University of West Florida International Center at 9:30 a.m. Attendees can register here.

The conference, which carries the theme “Exploring Paths to Literacy Proficiency,” features keynote speaker Ginger Alberto, program director of the Florida Department of Education Student Achievement through Language Acquisition Bureau, who will speak on “Meeting the Needs of English Learners in Literacy Proficiency.”

Another featured speaker will be John Pecore,  Ph.D., from UWF and president-elect of the Foundation for Public Schools of the Escambia School District. He will share his expertise in writing winning grants.

There will be various other interesting workshops including best classroom and policy practices based on current research and pedagogy in language acquisition and academic achievement, earn in-service credits and more. Please click on this link to see the full agenda.
